Intro
Here you can find additional printables for the Bailey's Curriculum that I have created, as we do them. Please please please share with us any additional things you do with your IBB Bailey's Curriculum and we will post them here and certainly give you credit (and link back to your site).
General IBB Add-ons
IBB Purchases....
Of course, I cannot add the schedule cards and learning center cards IBB offers for sale. (They are soooo worth the extra bucks). But I have made a few things of my own that I will include here. Most things (except pictures) are much better for Cooper when I laminate them, and I highly recommend it for other Tots, too!
Healthy Habits....
Download Learning Poster Labels (13.1K) - I make a learning poster for each book and post it for Cooper to see. These are the headers. Under each header I add a picture of each item.
Colors and Shapes...
I wish I could remember the Tot School blog that recommended this book, but I got it for Cooper and it is FABULOUS. If we never get another color book, that is ok. This one is so great.
Also found this shapes DVD on Amazon and it got good reviews so I decided to try it out. Well, it is super duper boring if you are an adult. I had to go into the other room...but Cooper was enamored. He wants to watch it all the time, and he seems to be learning from it. That is enough for me to give it 2 thumbs up.
In my search, I discovered that Karen Katz (who doesn't love her books, right?) has a shapes and colors book each coming out in August. I have pre-ordered them. My expectations are high; the previews look pretty good though.
Finally, I also ordered these two books (here and here) which got super reviews on Amazon, but Cooper doesn't really like them. I am going to return them this week.
Monthly Links
IBB September (May for CRP)
Red - I searched for large Google images of RED items and save them in Shutterfly. I then have them printed at Target and put them into a cheap photo album like this one (but I got mine at Target). The front and back cover is construction paper, so I remove it and replace it with a piece of RED construction paper. This is his RED book that we can review and take anywhere. From my link, you can print these pictures as well, and order them via Shutterfly.
Additional books - Around the Park
Healthy Habit Label and Sign (12.8K) - This link is simply to the Labels. I put this up on the door to the bathroom where we have his stool. I also cut out pictures of children washing their hands, laminate them and then tape them under the headings. I make sure to put them at his height. He likes playing with them which gives us a chance to talk about them. Here are the "Washing Hands" pictures I found on Google Images.
The IBB unit contains signs and labels for colors (Red) and shapes (Circle) in this unit. The colors are very cute ice cream scoops which stack on top of each other every month. They are also available as free printables via their website.
Since this was our first stab at IBB, I did not augment any art activities, etc. so there are no additional links. But I do plan to add them as we go (especially for the next book - The Wheels on the Bus) so please keep checking in here for more. Please please please share with us any additional things you do with your IBB Bailey's Curriculum and we will post them here and certainly give you credit (and link back to your site).
The Wheels on the Bus...
I love felt boards, especially from this store. We got several of them for future use, including The Wheels on the Bus.
I made a matching game using the clip art from Kizclub.
IBB October (May - June for CRP)
Here are the ORANGE pictures for his orange color book.
I also learned about a new website with some great color and shape stuff. I purchased the ORANGE package and we really like it.
I also purchased the TRIANGLE learning pack.
This month's Healthy Habit is Brush Your Teeth. Here are the images I found on Google.
Old MacDonald...
We watched some versions of the song on YouTube. There are tons, but here are our 4 favorites.
We used the flannel board from Storytellingfun.com - this was an especially great find because the tractor was included, just like the book. It has otherwise been difficult to find in other rhymes, etc.
I found this super cute farm sticker book. We have been doing one page of stickers per day (there are 12 pages). We talk about what is on each sticker (a tractor, a sheep, a flower, etc), and I let him stick it on the paper. Sometimes he is not to keen with where he placed it, and the stickers come off the page and can be replaced if you are gentle. There are others of this kind in different themes (numbers, trucks, etc) so we will be keeping an eye out for other matching themes.
Itsy Bitsy Spider...
We used the flannel board from Storytellingfun.com. We looked up spiders on line to see pictures of real ones.
IBB November (June- July for CRP)
Here are the BROWN pictures for his brown color book.
This month's Healthy Habit is Brush Your Teeth. Here are the images I found on Google.
I noticed the credit for this unit's rhyme goes to another web site. I have not yet done so, but I will look through here for some other ideas.
For the apple "family tree" I printed out a picture of each family member and laminated them to the apple.
I was not able to locate any flannel board or otherwise for this book, but there are some great ideas in IBB!
