• Feed houseplants with fertilizer

• Prune figs lightly, removing tall shoots in middle of bush. Fruit on horizontal limbs
  does best.

• Check outdoor plants for pests; use insecticidal soap if any are found

• Cut back basil, mint and oregano by ½ to prevent them going to seed

• Plant seeds for marigold, cosmos, cleome and dwarf sunflowers

• Remove all stems that support faded flowers on blue/pink hydrangea.

• Shorten droopy, flowerless hydrangea stems by 1/3

• Remove faded flower from salvia, zinnia, coneflower and petunias

• Before July 20 plant tomatoes, okra, corn, pole beans, lima beans, cucumber, squash, snap beans and pumpkins

• Clean off harvested rows immediately to prevent insect and disease build up

• Once all flowering has finished on cluster on tradescantia, deadhead to the new
  lateral flowers. If foliage is brown, cut by 2/3

• At end of month after flowering, divide bearded iris

• Deadhead daylily

• If entire daylily stem is done flowering, cut back

• After second bloom of achillea millefolium, shear to basal foliage

• Shear foliage and deadhead lamium maculatam

• Deadhead balloon flowers
