Gardening Authors I Love

  • Beverly Nichols
This is a great British author who writes of his love of gardening and his garden adventures. Was turned on to this author by someone at the Atlanta Gardening Show in 2003 and love his work.
  • Pamela Harper
Super information for learning about color, designing beds, picking the right plants. All of her books are wonderful and well written. Get this one if you can just ave one.
  • Michael Dirr
Another incredible garden genius from Athens. Dr Dirr is the THE tree and shrub expert. This link is to his new Hydrangea book coming in June 2004. He also has some great Hardy Tree and Shrub books - one especially for the southeast.
  • Allan Armitage
First, this dude is from Athens, so I have to plug a local. But second, he is so incredibly intelligent when it comes to plants. This book is full of good information and great plants. His other books are wonderful if you enjoy learning a great deal about specific flowers.
  • Tracy Disabato-Aust
OK - I'll be honest. Her second books was not as good as her first. BUT, this book is a must have for every gardener. Beginner to advanced.
  • Ken Druse
He writes some great books about gardening in a natural habitat. But even more amazing are the photographs in his books. Beautiful.
  • Cassandra Danz
This lady writes the most hilarious stories, all filled with a wealth of information. She is a real, down to earth gardener.
  • Elizabeth Lawrence
This book is a must have, but her writings are all inspiring and educational for southern gardeners.
