It looks like we have about 5 dogwood on the property. They are forming their brackts now.
Here is another tree in the yard that is very very cool. Anyone know what this is?
The red Robin is back looking for food. I was able to catch him from the living room window.
Saturday I worked about 8 hours on the veggie bed. I was able to take some of the delivered compost and move it over to the left half of the bed, till it in, and begin planting. The other half of the bed is not yet done because I ordered too much compost. Dan is going to help me move it to another area. Whew!
The sun is really bringing out the Hosta which is very exciting.
In the last journal entry I noted that there was a plant that I thought was Japanese Painted Fern. Well, I have no idea what that plant is now because the Fern are peaking their head separately now.
Also exciting, the Blueberry Bush is blooming. I really hope we can get a crop this year. The other one I have to cross pollinate with is very very small.
Last year nothing happened with my Lady Banks Rose - no blooms, no growth, nothing....This spring growth is showing like crazy!
I added 3 Lantana to the bed today - I like the yellow and pink combo.
Also, I put in 12 Dead nettle. I was disappointed when I got them - from Springhill Nursery - they are oh so small and were not in good shape. I think they will come back to life though.
This was a great sedum for shade that I got via eBay. It is really looking good.
Here is a better picture of the bleeding heart I tried to take last week.
Some daffadils bloomed in the back yard. I wonder what caused them to be late bloomers.
And two other bulbs that I don't know what they are.
My new $1 Japanese Maple is looking so neat. The leaves are coming out and they are beautiful.
The H. paniculata is beginning to leaf out; as well as the H. vine. This one is variegated.
Last year, early in the year, I got this Carolina Jessamine at Home Depot for 50 cents. It was almost dead. I nursed it as well as possible and it is looking better this year, starting to bloom. It is a little bit later blooming than most because it is in part shade.
Last but not least the Japanese Snowball (Viburnum species?) is beginning to leaf out.
