About 3 weeks ago the weather was in the 80's for several days. It was glorious. The hosta were coming up early. The roses were forming buds. The hydrangea flowers were forming. And then...2 nights below 30 degrees. Ouch. We covered all of the Hydrangea, but it really didn't do any good. The cold burned them. The flowers are gone, and except for a few rebloomers, they will not bloom again this year. It makes me almost want to cry. This was the third year in the ground for most of them, and I was expecting fabulous blooms. The plants will look better eventually. But the blooms - arg.
I received some daylilies in the mail. Pixie Beauty. Penny Earned (super tiny). New Note. Dancing Shiva. Dance Ballerina Dance. (Pictures are in the same order)
Yesterday I added manure to the veggie garden and tilled it in. Planted roma tomatoes, peppers, melons, beans and herbs. I also bought some flowers that I need to get in the ground today.
