These are pictures from the garden over the past 2-3 days:
Coreopsis grandiflora "Little Sundial" - there are lots of little blooms and one has opened - the strange thing: it is not supposed to bloom until late summer/early fall.
This is the oh-so-fragarent rose I bought last year at Autumn Hill. It has tons of blooms; this is the first one to open. The tag says it is a David Austin - The Mayflower - but it looks different - maybe the wrong tag??
A close up.
OK - so this azalea was one of three on the right side of the fence that was not doing well. Maybe wet feet? I dunno. But they were bad. One might not make it but I am trying. I have moved them all. Just a few short days after I moved this one, it started blooming. So, it will live and look good next year, I hope. The ones on the left side just look so nice.
This is a New Dawn from the orphan sale. Ignore the black spot. hehe.
Same New Dawn -- I love the color of the leaves against the rose.
White irises - not bearded ones. I have no idea where I got these. They are new this year.
I bought these 5 fern last year but left them in pots, not watered, outside in the winter. I was sure they were dead, but once again I was too lazy to throw them out. Good thing. This spring they came back -- so I planted them under Cooper's window.
One thing I love almost more than Hosta is watching them unfurl. I am so happy the leaves are big this year.
This is one of my favorite - it looks white washed.
Blooms on my favorite Hydrangea - Hayes Starburst. I would be content with a garden full of these and these alone. They have proven almost impossible to propogate for me. Layering seems to work. I may try that again this year.
In an interesting justaposition, this is the hydrangea right next to the Hayes Starburst. You can see that all of the limbs died. I think this is Aspera, but I have to look. The leaves are silver underneath.
